NATO watch straps ... a spot of advice please.

Still not 100% sure of the meaning of the word Zulu in this context though.
Ah, sorry. Was referring to these ZULUDIVER Watch Straps.

The ones I find too chunky.

The ones I'm considering next purchasing because I like the more elegant profile.

I bought from 3 British sellers :
- Swag Monkey or Monkey Swag, prices start at £7 IIRC, acceptable quality (unless an accident, it will probably last for years);
- Timefactors, a very reputable seller, for years, very good value for money;
- Geckota or watchgecko, good value for money too.
All buys/orders were tickety-boo.

Have, in the past 24 hours, seen two of the three mentioned ...the Monkey one had eluded me but will look now you've mentioned it.

I conclude, hopefully rightly, that Zuludiver is the manufacturer's name and, in fact, have seen it when looking, so that all ties in nicely and can now go back and look for listings with the different profiles as you kindly illustrate for me.

Does this tie in with the second Zuludiver pic? .... https://www.amazon.co.uk/ZULUDIVER-...id=1527778556&sr=8-1&keywords=zuludiver+strap

Both the above add to my, previously negligible, knowledge on the matter ... for which I'm indebted . Thanks. :)

I'm definitely warming to them.

Is it possible that you could burn an additional hole where you wanted one? I'm thinking a piece of thick wire or a nail etc. heated up with a blowlamp, or even on the gas? I've had much success in the past heating up nylon and plastic things in order to modify them in one way or another.

That would definitely work but there's not a lot of room between the holes. I know that should make it a non-issue but I am cursed with preferring to wear my watch on the loose side but not liking it flopping. I do have a rubber NATO from YellowDog straps that works brilliantly and is very comfortable.

Checked the Yellow Dog site ... the actual site wasn't displaying 100% correctly but I definitely got the gist of it - and it certainly takes the whole affair one step further with the hand made element introduced. Fascinating stuff.

I tested a Nato strap with a military style watch and binned it was hoping for a softer more natural feel. Next up was a rubber strap not a very natural alternative I know but surprise surprise I have really come to like it.

This has moved on a bit has it not? :)

To be honest, the "diving" aspect is a bit over my head ... despite achieving a compulsory life saving certificate when in training school at the age of approx 21, I can barely swim :-(

However you're saying that rubber has a comfort and grip that the other options don't have.

I'm thinking that a two piece strap is more up my street. Having said that, if you look at the pic you'll see that three out of the five are stainless bracelets that, more or less, came with the watch and the other two are cheapo's that are nothing other than functional (and the Timex is definitely utilitarian: I found it laying in the road in a Devon village years ago and it refuses to die). I'm now wondering if a rubber two piece might be OK. I'd never thought of any of my watches, past and present, as being uncomfortable although they do sometimes slip round my wrist and need to be retrieved occasionally.

BUT some are £2.99 inc. postage, and others are £28.00 The Yellow Dog rubber two piece is £25 I think, probably plus a bit of P&P.

Ongoing food for thought then ....

By the way, unfortunately TF don't do any 18mm rubber straps.
