I think the Brikka is the way forward for stove top coffee makers.

I think your quiet right  that pressure valve is simple but effective for helping flavour and crema, amazing to watch that work, as I wasn't expecting it to work at all, but it does :icon_razz:

Well if we are sharing this is my Sunday morning coffee
IMG_20140105_114307_581.jpg

Cappuccino made with a Delonghi Espresso machine and Lavazza beans ground in a Hario Mini it may not be a Gaggia but I like the coffee.

Well here is mine. Rave Italian Job beans ground in my RR45 grinder and the espresso extracted from my Fracino Cherub
A Flat White, milk was some of the best I have steamed, really velvety
I have a real interest in coffee, as I do with DE shaving, in fact as many of you know there is a lot of crossover between members here and Coffee Forum UK [attachment=9310]

I've been trying a few coffees now in the Brikka and have found that there are a few brands that work very well through to not very good. So here's my list
works well are as follows in order
Lavazza rosso in fact any of the caffeinated ones.
Segafredo intermezzo very good crema and smooth
Trucillo moka its ok but you need a little less water.

the not great list is as follows
Illy coffee medium or dark roast it does not work in the brikka you get very little crema and the taste is nothing special for the price. I think the grind is too fine for the Brikka.
Lidl espresso coffee cheap but not an outstanding cup of coffee.

At some stage I'm going to invest in a grinder and see how I get on.
