Merkur Progress V Fatboy Slim

I've not used one but I've heard the progress is good. The downsides are it looks stupid with the yellow plastic knob. Also the numbers don't always correspond to the clicks as you adjust it apparantly.
I really like my slim adjustable. I'd happily have another if it ever broke. Some say the fatboy is even better but I think I would prefer the slimmer head of the slim.
Slim is my recommendation although I'm biased. In terms of shaving you can't go wrong with any of them.

I haven't used a progress or a fatboy but in regard to the clicks/numbers settings on the progress, you can re-calibrate the razor so that the settings match properly.

Im sure it was mentioned in a Mantic video

I'd say it's even stevens. The Slim is a bit nippier round the corners, but the extra weight of the Fatboy is nice too. I can't imagine anything significantly better.

I'm not interested any more but if anybody is the auction ends in a couple of hours I would be hoping to get it for £15 delivered or less. Set a snipe and away you go. Picture isn't great but I understand they are built like tanks.

Its a smooth adjustment action with no clicks.

If I'm honest I think that the criticisms of adjustment on the Progress as voiced on forums are, how can I put it, well, lets jsut say I don't see what the problem is. I'm very happy with mine.

I've got a Mergress which I am very pleased with.
The alloy 'knob' (so to speak) is much better than the plastic. Plus the chap who does the conversion, Mer, ensures its all calibrated and in alignment so I am not the best person to comment on any problems from off the shelf versions of the Progress.

Loaded with an IP blade this has to be one of my favourite razors.

Nice one Guy.

I've seen ebay seller abroad sell the metal 'knob' for something like £13 inc. p+p and assures me the 'conversion' is fairly simple.

I'll try and get the link later. Not sure what the price difference is between a d-i-y job and buying a brand new converted Mergress.
