Mentally Glacial

I recently used Alcolado Glacial for the first time, and expressed the sensation in an SOTD.
It was quite unlike any aftershave I had used before - the tingling was the strongest I had encountered, and even my fingers felt it.

Iain, @Digimonkey suggested I try mixing half and half Alcolado Glacial and Floid Mentolado Vigoroso . . . .

Well, I just had to try it last night (no SOTD post as I was busy)

Ooft ! Ya Bass !!! - It was the coldest sensation my face has ever encountered !

But - the face feel (when normal sensation eventually returned) was very good.
Skin feeling supple, nicely hydrated and ever so smooth.

In summary, I would recommend this on very hot days - it's very refreshing and invigorating.
Just don't over do it as this concoction may impair your vision !

Thanks for the tip, Iain !

We can get half a litre of the stuff delivered from Amazon for £9.50. That's bonkers! I need to stop looking or I'll end up enabling myself.

It's really quite good as an aftershave,
Chris
quite high in alcohol so there is a little sting, and it's not overly scented.
I would imagine it works well as an all over cooling splash in hot weather.

It does work - doesn't it? When you can see again adequately - the snot has stopped dripping - I think @Pelada may have suggested the 'ne plus ultra'- Fine Snake Bite - as a mix for the Glacial - I'm pretty sure - that might be a substance banned by various UN agreements. A chemical weapon? I salute your use of vernacular - 'Ooft ! Ya Bass !!!' - you can skip the first month of my - how to speak Glaswegian course. Nicely done. Pay attention @Satanfriendly - ha ha ha - I.

The fabled reputation of Snakebite alone is enough to put the chills up me - let alone risking the possible nuclear synthesis that may result from mixing it with the bright green Glacial !

Re :- the use of Glaswegian Slang,
Iain - I learned from the man himself - 'The Big Yin' - I've been a fan of his work since childhood.
I saw him perform at Lakeside, Doncaster some years ago.
His stories about his early career with Gerry Rafferty were very interesting.

This is one of my favourites of his , I'm sorry I can't find the actual footage. . .

"Intae Im, Intae Im" !!!

Ha ha - I'm sorry to relate - I photographed him and he was an ignorant bastard - I knew before going to the job that he didn't like the press - I think that's why the Scotsman chose me for the gig - I'm generally quite amiable - but - he had agreed to it - after all - totally uncooperative and defensive - a nightmare to get a single usable picture - he was a total prick - unlike his lovely wife Pamela - had her in the back of the camera when she was given an honourary degree at Glasgow Uni - a deeply, deeply attractive woman - not in any conventional sense - but really. I think that's how you describe charisma - she has it in buckets. I.

I know we only get to see what these personalities want us to see of/in them.
I can quite imagine him being a bit of a Prima Donna.
I've always thought he was punching above his weight with Pamela.
She's such an intelligent and lovely person.

A quick story . . .

A firm I used to work for would treat us all at Christmas time, and take us to a charity dinner- dance/cabaret at a top hotel on Park Lane, along with celebrities - to name a few. . Marty Wilde, John Inman, Ainsley Harriot, Andrew Sachs, Jeremy Beadle.
One year, Robert Powell (The 39 Steps,/Jasper Carrot show, etc) was sat at the next table.
One of the ladies in our party was a fan of his work, and asked him his autograph - his reply was , to put it politely, very rude.
This immediately made the lady reconsider her admiration of the man and his work.

The same night, I had to leave early and needed to call a cab home , and I didn't have signal on my mobile.
Andrew Sachs, without hesitation, thrust his mobile into my hand and said "use mine my friend" - He really was a nice chap. We chatted for a good ten minutes in the lobby, and I thought he was very charming indeed.
