Long Handled Merker Progress

A Merkur Progress has been my daily razor for the past year and a half ( bought from new after reading the opinions of members of this forum as well as other forums on shaving)Prior to that I used a Mach3 razor. The Progress has been excellent but recently the dial at the bottom of the razor has become too loose so that when I'm shaving the blade gap can be altered if my finger should accidently touch the rotating dial- this problem has started over the last few weeks. How do I to stop the dial becoming loose ? Thanks

If there has been wear on the adjustment mechanism you can put a drop of an anaerobic sealant, that makes it turn with more effort, more under control.external-content.duckduckgo.jpg

Today I got a phone call from the approved Merkur shop and they will replace my faulty Merkur Progress with a brand new one at no cost to me rather than repair it. Am amazed at the Merkur service . I can't wait until Friday when I can pick up the razor. Very happy customer.

Must have been a broken spring as there is usually enough resistance in the knob to prevent accidental movement. At least they have stood by their product.
