LC vs SC

I've had both and prefer the SC.
One LC I had was smooth as. Great razor. Another one felt somewhat more coarse (not 'rough' as such, just not as refined as the first one).
The SC does clamp the blade better, so 'maybe' less chance of blade chatter?
As always, you really need to have both!
Mind you, both my LC were Nickel, and my SC is Gold...so maybe I just like Gold and shiny?

I have heard that the SC clamps the blade better, if that improves the shave over the already excellent LC I am going to be very pleased with it.

I have 2 x LC one in excellent condition which will serve as a travel razor and one in good condition which will be sold, the SC will be my daily razor.

I had not liked gold razors before the LC and SC now I don't mind at all, i think owning a gold
Fatip put me off, I found it to be badly made, terrible finish and like shaving with a broken bottle.

Yes, if you look at the SC and LC baseplates you will quickly notice the SC base has a wider 'bed' for the blade to sit down on. It sits out further towards the comb (teeth).
I've sold both my LC but kept the SC.
Re the Fatip...maybe you had a version 1.
I bought the Picollo SE set (Special Edition). These are version 2 and are tamed down a bit.
The finish is still barely OK, the build is as rough as guts, but (once you make sure the blade is aligned properly), it gives a great smooth and close shave.
I put on a Muhle R89 cap, and then was able to use a RR Halo handle.
This made the razor better balanced (for me), and looks good too.

I had the V1 Fatip, the blade alignment was terrible, shouldn't have to align a razor blade at all, bad design or QC, especially when Gillette got it right 80 or 90 years ago.
Will post how first shave goes with SC.

Which LC?
USA,
Deluxe,
Raised flat bottom,
English,
7 0 clock,

I have a 7 O clock, USA, RFB, Deluxe & the SC.
I would probably say the RFB was my favourite but they are all nice except for the Deluxe that tries to eat my face LOL.

I have two long combs and two short combs. They all shave differently. One SC and one LC felt aggressive and harsh, the other two were smooth as silk. The caps on the two nasty razors were noticeably thinner. I switched the caps with a few pre-war Canadian Techs I had that had much thicker caps and the razors smoothed out to perform like the other two. As an added bonus, the thin caps made the Techs a little more aggressive. A win-win!
One of my long combs is Canadian made, all the others are US made.

There are at least 3 different Short Combs, as I have seen them in 3 legitimate configurations.

Essentially, there are 2 different Guards, or Base Plates and 2 different caps. I have not seen the cap for guard No. 1 used on guard No. 2 because it does not really fit properly. The cap used on the Long Comb and Deluxe is used on SC 2. The cap used on SC 1 is really unique to the SC 1 configuration.

*I am using the titles SC 1, SC 2, & SC3 arbitrarily and there is not a known title or label for these configuration variations.

After posting in this thread, I had to break out my SC this evening. These are obviously all my favorites, but the 102's see 70% of the action. It's hard working them all in, but a joy to do so.

The ToOBS Platinum is pretty great cream. I like the soap too.

[Edit]
I mislabeled the gold-tone SC n the post about.
Below: Short Comb 1* w/Uncommon Thin Bar handle, Short Comb 3*** w/Nickel Thin bar handle. Sorry for the confusion.

I will also add that if you have not tried one like SC1, it might be one of the best razors they put on the market.
Of the 3-piece razors I use, 100, 102(ABC included), 106, 126, 162, and this SC are my all-time favorites.
