Lather Shots

Soap Blackship Grooming Captain's Pipe New 1st Use
Brush
Yaqi 24mm Arctic Sky Deep Blue
Got the soap sample on a whim and man it was a great one!! Very nice aromatic tobacco pipe-ish scent although wishing it was stronger but it's ok. Lather quality is good too...creamy and slick. So glad to get this...thanks to fellow tobacco sotd members...

Dreadfully sorry Chard, but I have to ask... is your day job an ice cream man?! Those lather shots are so perfect I wanna stick a Flake in them!

Bants aside, do you pipe the lather onto the brush? I'm struggling to figure out how you get such a perfect Mr Whippy style.
Hey, many thanks, and appreciate your kind words. Nah...I am not an ice cream man for the day job but just during the shave session:LOL:
Ahh...well, I just think the whippy-lather is just ok...hahaha...but the truth is, it took me a while to get it right...most important is the lather qualities...
Below are some pictures I've taken a while back...
1st scoop up the lather with the brush then twirl the rest of the lather into the brush using the bowl edge and the wrist...may take many tries to get a desirable pattern, make sure have the time.....sometimes may require the assistance of the finger...;)

Enjoy...hope to see your Mr. Whippy too...keep safe and take care...

Wow! Thanks for the how-to pics. That is impressive, although as you say, what counts is the properties. I had expected that the lather would be made with one brush and displayed on another. I think thy assistance of a finger is legit if there's only 1 brush. How long do you generally have to whip it up for, to get that quantity and consistency?
