So the rules are 3 inches, non-locking blade to carry in public. If you are stopped, you need to have a good reason for the knife anywhere in England.
My knife is pushing it at 3.3 inches, but at 38 years old, and only using it when fishing on the west coast of Scotland, I don't foresee any issues. If I was carrying in a major city, I might at a push have an issue.

It's only a matter of time before the laws change again thanks to all of the helmets running around stabbing people lately.
