It’s finally arrived!!

The design comes directly from the a lancet produced originally by ‘Mappin' ! I've asked the maker to reproduce, the only slight twist is an elongated tail and gun stock scales! It is however not to dissimilar to an original. If you like to see it's brother /sister look at rigarazors on eBay ! This is probably more similar to the original with regards to the scale design !
Not sure about the reasons for such a design, weight reduction perhaps is possible given it's a 9/8th , but it just firsthand looks awesome and shaves just as well so perhaps somebody can chime in to explain??

Ps the old school design was a modification of the “frame back” type of razor ! Perhaps there is more of a historian out there to give us the low down !

A faux frameback is one that looks like a frameback but is actually one solid piece of steel.

Doesn't mean bad or a copy or anything. Just not a true frameback

Ok , hey no offence taken , just making the point that the lancet isn't a faux or a copy of anything!
I'm about 4 shave in with it and it's absolutely awesome! Very forgiving but a beast at slicing through the whiskers! It's sister is sitting on his eBay listing / I do recommend anyone with the abilities snap it up!

Inspired by Mappin but I would have preferred a version that was more true to the original design.
I have been entirely selfish, I loved the concept of the Mappin blade , I , big handedly, liked the idea of a monkey tail and thought a gunstock scale would marry well ! I will leave it to others to decide whether or not I've achieved a good looking blade????1519F463-8BCA-4E15-8C88-07DDDB14038B.jpeg

Well!!!! Sergej made a sister blade when he forged this one !! The long n short is it's going to be scaled in an identical fashion and heading my way soon ! A matched pair of lancet blades is going to be sweet!
