I think I may have a shoe issue!

Check out John Chung, World Champion Shoe Shiner, if you really want to see how it's done.

My research would suggest Sphir Medaille d'Or products (French is probably the best shoe cleaning polish/cream/renovator etc; there is also Boot Black, from Japan, but difficult to get in the UK.
Does anyone use or Know where to obtain Angelus Roll call military grade edge dressing (made in USA) or any other recommendations for welt dressing?
Anyone else got any views on the above?

That is some mirror finish JohnnyO, any tips would be very much appreciated. I thought the toes and heels should be the places to carryout the mirror polish, because it cracks where the shoe / boot flexes. I notice if you go into berluti, their display shoes are polished similarly; but you are paying upwards of £1K to own a pair. Would really appreciate how you get that shine!!

I would guess it is through old school spit and polish and many an hour with a soft cloth. :) P.

Blademonkey has disclosed my secret ... That there really is no secret, just many levels of thin polish worked up.
I use original Kiwi and a Selvyt cloth.
A quick cheat for getting the base layers, which works for me, is to apply a thin coat of polish, allow to dry, then sprinkle a couple of drops of clean water (not spit) on the area to be bulled and buff off with a microfibre or velvet pad.
This is just a shortcut to build up the layers. After that any U tube vid on Spit & Polish will show you how.
Hope this assists.

That's what I do, I have a spray bottle with water in it for that purpose, there is nothing that beats true elbow grease!
