How Well Does Brut 33 Last

Been looking on ebay recently for an old gift set or bottle of it and was wondering how well Brut 33 holds up being in that plastic bottle all those years? Is it worth getting a bottle?

I've got a bottle of the modern splash on lotion and I gather that its just the same only the 33 has been dropped now. I've watched Paul H using it and I love the bottle design alone (and its cult status 'enry Cooper "splash it all over" quote thats been drummed into my head over the years by my father any time Brut's mentioned) but just want a general opinion before I go spending money trying to get some.

I have a brut33 in a plastic bottle, on my skin the scent lasts good 2 hours. Old formula brut whether 33 or normal, the scent is different from the new formula, With the old aftershaves, the performances are bit hit and miss because some go off some don't, so it's bit of luck. It all depends how much you like brut, I like it a lot and smelling an old formula brut is like a time machine,

Thanks. Theres a couple of decent looking gift sets on ebay that im going to keep my eye on. I like the current splash on lotion so id be interested to find out how it compares with the original.

I guess it all depends on your luck with the old aftershaves, some may look very good, unopened etc.. important thing is; where and how they were stored, if they left it next to the heater or somewhere seeing direct sunlight, that would badly effect the performance and the quality of the aftershave.
I watched Paul H's Brut comparison, the special reserve cologne spray is good and inexpensive but in my opinion the closest version is the American(manufactured in Mexico) Cologne version.

Bough an old Brut 33 gift set on Ebay on Sunday for £25 (not a great price but not a bad one either I think), hopefully it will come before the week is finished. Its got a bottle of the splash on lotion and talc, looks in brilliant condition so hopefully the fragrance isnt spoiled.

Anyone know what the talc might be like or if its advisable to still use it?

This came today......

Slightly disappointing, thought the bottle was going to be full but its only up to the bottom of the neck I think. The scent doesnt smell spoiled but it has turned a sort of yellowish colour, was hoping to decant some of the new splash on lotion into it once its finished but it doesnt have the pop off plastic bit at the top like the current and some vintage bottles have. Might have to drill the hole at the top bigger so I can pour some in.

Another nice addition to the collection nonetheless.

Just found out the stopper does actually pop off so that will make it easier to refill.

As for the scent on my skin its changed a little. From the bottle it smells a little similar to the modern splash on but when I dabbed some on my wrists there it smells a bit different. I think the age (I dont know if was yellow to begin with but I get a feeling some of the fragrance oils have made it go that way over time) has definitely changed the scent, it doesnt have that fresh powdery blast I get with the current splash on. Slightly disappointing that the talc doesnt have any scent left but as with the lotion bottle I can always use them as overpriced plastic decanters! :D Might refill the talc with some Imperial Leather because I dont think Brut makes anything like that now.

Will probably use the rest of the lotion by using it in a bath before I refill it as I like to do with the current stuff. A few capfulls in a bath and you've got a Brut Bath! ;)

Just wish they still made the bubble bath. :D

You could always squirt some Brut shower gel into the tub.
it's only a quid a bottle in some bargain shops
