So my newly honed razor and 6/8" Dovo "Best Quality" arrived this morning. After shaving with the Dovo, I'm thrilled. Naturally I sliced myself a bit (thank God for the styptic pencil. Well, God or Satan) but I'm pretty happy with the quality of shave. I've heard that Dovo don't give great shaves straight out of the box, but it seemed pretty good. I did get some redness, but there are fewer ingrowns and the whole experience was jolly satisfying.

Now if I can just master the stropping...

where did you get the 6/8?
i've been looking for one with a 1/2 hollow grind

It seems so. When honing time comes, I'll ask Neil to do it for me, so I'll be able to compare.

I got it from the same, actually. Check the website. There's a 4/8" and a 6/8": http://www.dovorazors.com/page40.html. Decent cheapish strop there, too.
