I have the perfumers alcohol, distilled water, witch hazel, camphor, glycerine, possibly menthol crystals and 30 plus Essential Oils.
I am thinking first of either a Lime AS or a Speick copycat as I have a type of Speick EO. I have Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Geranium and possibly Rose. I think a Lavender or an all round Citrus - Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit and Bergamot are great. I love Cedrat/Citron and Yuzu.

So what other aromas would you go for?
I am not a fan of Bay Rum.

Well done for experimenting, I would go for lavender and orange, I think that would work well as an aftershave or a soap for that matter. I do like lavender, very calming.
Lavender and camomile would be interesting however camomile EO is not cheap!

Super! I mixed a few like this and had reasonable success. There is a great tendency to bung everything in at once, but from hindsight I would encourage you to take small steps ...

First you need to get the base right. That's the alcohol and witch hazel mix. I went for a 60/40. Glycerine is just a dash and I'd say not to add that until you're happy with the amount of alcohol.

From there, take out regular measures - 10ml a time and add single drops of essential oil. See how you like each one and see what each one offers. You can go with larger amount if liquid and make up complex concoctions thereafter.

Lavender is a must. Rose works out well (proper vial of Otto Rose attar rather than EO). Geranium balances things out. Menthol also works out well (don't forget Olbas Oil :D ). Yeah experiment with citrus and woods thereafter.

Well I finally decided on my AS formula, I was looking PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil and Glycerin. But I have gone for Sodium Lactate. I just need to decide on my EO mix. I am looking at around 5 EO's...
