Hi there fellow shavers

I grew up in South Africa, shaving like most of my generation with a cartridge razor and canned goo. Shaving was always a chore, bearable at best, but a man had to do what a man had to do.

A few years after arriving in the UK, I started using real shaving soap and a brush, and things started improving.

About two years ago, I became curious about straight razors and bought my first shavette. Steep learning curve, but with Youtube and reading shaving forums I gradually got there. Transitioned to straight razors, so today I almost exclusively use a straight razor on a daily basis. On the odd occasion when I don't have enough time, I will use my DE.

What was a chore became a hobby, passion and a joy. Not only the shaving part, but also the finding, acquiring, restoring and honing mostly vintage razors. Love working with sharp, shiny bits of metal, so I also own a box with a few cheap and nasty Gold Dollars that I use to experiment on.
