Hello from Yorkshire

Hi

I have been a Gillette Mach 3 user for many years but I have disappointed at the high cost and an indifferent shaving experience, I have even tried disposable razors, not good at all.

I have been on Badger and Blade for some time but want to support a UK forum and learn more about how to shave with a DE and buying the products that suit me best. I am still looking around and have bought a Wilkinson Classic, a Wilkinson and a Gillette Tech plus a lot of different creams and gels. I am watching a number of youtube vids to learn the technique and intend to start with a mild razor and see how that goes. I must admit that I think some of the gorgeous brushed chrome razors such as the Merkur Futur look very good indeed.

Another hobby of mine is the collection and restoration of fountain pens which has a number of parallels to the razor world, taking time to do things properly, an appreciation of older instruments and the selection of the right razor for you.

The other aspect is they both have green credentials with minimal plastic waste as compared to disposable razors and the throwaway ballpoint pen.

I hope to learn a little and be an active member of this interesting forum
