Hi All, Ye Merry Gentlemen and Ladies, perhaps,
I am glad I have found an English Speaking traditional wet shaving forum in Europe.
I am a former teacher / professor, now I work in the IT industry.
I am a wet shaver since I served in the military roughly 35 years ago. I only had a few months with electric buzzers but my skin could not get along with them at all.
For 25 years out of that 35 years I used only readily available, cheap DE (mostly the black plastic Wilkinson and Lord L5 and L6 later). Then I upgraded first to higher end DE's and shavettes (barber's straights). The later are still my favourite to go hardware, especially the ones with AC blades (Kai Captain and clones especially).
Only a year ago I started out to explore straights. My preference is the non-folding style here, too.
Still need to learn a lot :-} which I hope to accomplish more effectively through active participation instead of just lurking around.
