Hampshire wool fat shaving soap

Naturally, we'll make comparisons with MWF ...

It lathers up as easily as MWF (for someone who can lather MWF without issue), easier most likely for folks that struggle with MWF. For those who enjoy MWF, you'll find that super-yogurt thick lather can be built with Hampshire but not as readily as with MWF.

Scent is stronger than MWF and different. It's woody: cedar and patchouli. Modern. Shaving is as slick and cushioned, arguably "better" than MWF as MWF can feel a little skiddy? at times. Wash off is easy. Post-shave feel is akin to MWF but not quite the full lanolin glow that you get from MWF. That in itself might be a good thing for folks that find MWF to be too much on the lanolin side.

How's that?
Nice one, thanks for your take on this soap, it sounds like it could be a great soap, not that I ever had a problem with MWF :)

I tentatively suggested it might be better than MWF, which is a big stretch for me!
+ 1 on this, I personally prefer it. It went straight up there with the best soaps I have from the 1st shave with it.
The scent for me is simply wonderful, the feeling during and post shave are top notch.
I do not think you will be disappointed Paul.
I got 3 pucks on the hope it was as good as the limited reviews - I am truly over the moon with it.

I don't feel too bad about breaking my no buy year so soon into it knowing it's a great soap! :)

Paul.

I have just been in conversation with Ratna regarding new / other scents and she said it may be a possibility once her business grows, she explained the costs involved in bringing another scented soap on to the market and it is not as straight forward as I had thought but the good thing is she is open to the idea of different scents for her shaving soaps in the future.
I can see with all the good feedback her soap is generating it will not be long before she is more able to do this.
So keep buying her soap and you may get to choose from more than one scent when her business blooms! :)

...great service and very responsive to communications. Just wonderful to see a small business artisan soap maker get recognition and praise...

FWIW, there was an American artisan, of no small notoriety, who introd a soap similar to MWF for a great price a year or so hence. Unfortunately, it seemed to get little traction in this fickle market:

I don't think the soap in question was as inexpensive as the Hampshire lanolin soap to begin with but there's also the shipping charges from the US to consider.
You are correct though, this is a very fickle market indeed! :)

Cheers!

But I accidentally mistook the buy it now button as the back button. And I only went and purchased one.

It's all your fault.

Well that's what I'm telling my wife! ;)

@CjH easy mistake to make - happened to me yesterday. Obvious design flaw on ebay, 'cos I keep doing it!
