Hi folks, Back after a long break! Why now?

Well I got lazy, had a few shave related problems over recent months, seems odd as the gear hasn't changed, but what I was doing had, a quick read of a few threads in The Shaving Room reminded me of what was going wrong! Neck area was getting worse, nicks, soreness, discomfort, why?

Lazy, I had got lazy...... things were so bad I stopped shaving for a couple of weeks to give my face a rest!

Firstly, I was rushing my shave, why? I'm retired, an extra few minutes on my morning shave wouldn't go amiss.

I'd started with a quick wash then using my brush with a quick swirl of soap directly to the beard, no decent foam...... Lazy.
Pressure, not letting the razor (double edged Murker) do the work, a light touch, with or across the grain. I was just quickly shaving in a habitual fashion, not with gne grain etc.....Lazy
Multiple strokes over the same area without re applying more foam, well there wasn't any real foam in the first place....Lazy

Last night removed newly grown beard with electric trimmer after nice hot shower.

So, this morning, back to hot flannel, shaving bowl and proper creamy consistency, applied generously, no rush, the razor was lightly applied and the blade working properly, hardly any pressure. One pass, reapplied the foam, second pass, splash of cold water, dried off and a favourite after shave cream..... Mrs C very happy, I felt tons better........

It's easy to get lazy and forget what a great feeling a good shave is ..... up in the Cairngorms at the moment, walked fir a number of miles, the old faced felt great and fresh ...... happy times again!
