Gillette tech

I found the Tech a lovely razor to use. I have a '46 fat handle and consistently got good shaves from it using a variety of blades and soaps. They're also reasonably priced for vintage razors. Other than a minor bit of plate loss on the cap, the razor still looks great. A testament to the build quality of the time. This feels like a razor I can confidently put any blade in.

There is a bit of a learning curve involved with the Tech, but when the "sweet spot" is found it gives BBS if you do an ATG pass as a final one and a DFS without.

I'm using the Tech for several weeks on a daily basis now and I can absolutely confirm your piece of advice. The Tech is an incredible smooth razor. Its tolerance range is quite small, but as you already stated, once you find the 'sweet spot', it gives BBS if you do an ATG pass.

If someone told me some years ago, that a three pass shave with a Tech could be as efficient and lasting as a two pass shave with the R41 (always BBS), I probably would have laughed at him. Today, I am looking for its twin razor by Feather as my one and only (week-)daily razor, whereas my inherited Tech will be my travel razor.

In short: It's all about the technique. This is especially true for the Tech razor as its tolerance range is quite small.
