Gillette Minora Stainless

It's the medium level version.

It works very well as a razor. Easy to use and it always delivers a good finish. It's soulless though - I don't walk away from the shaving feeling like I've really enjoyed it. There's an annoying amount of drag with it as well which I think is due to the coating and angle of the head.

"Drag" even with the top shelf soaps you use? Interesting.

Thanks for the info Chris. I find it quite interesting how some modern razors seem to be a bit divisive at times, I think maybe down to the incredibly tight tolerances of production they may suit particular blades and types of facial hair more than others. I can only speculate!

A reasonable speculation Shubs. Don't get me wrong, I could probably continue to shave with the Henson and learn to get awesome enjoyable shaves from it but there's razors in my den that can do that straight away. I'm impatient!

FWIW, a poster on another forum is claiming the Minora Stainless is the recently discod. Gillette Stainless (red, white & black box) "reborn" under a "new" name. How he purportedly discovered this is unvetted, so..........unconfirmed.

Here is the quote & link and I think I know who the poster is as he posts here under a different name. Perhaps he will clarify this for us:

The Gillette Minora Stainless made from Russia St Petersburg factory is supposed to be the same brand as the old Gillette Stainless (red & white) pack are only made for the Middle East and African market.

The old Gillette Stainless (red & white) pack is no longer available in production anymore, they’re supposed to be the same as rebranded to the latest Gillette Minora Stainless in production from Russia directly and only for the Middle East and African market.

I've not used either, I have a few of each I'm waiting to get around to use.

I have a few of each and I will try to compare them, even if it is near enough impossible to compare blades.

IMO, I think Gillette are making some truly exceptional DE blades across all their factories, I was really impressed with the new batch of releases to come from the Shanghai factory.

For the sake of £9-10 for a 100 shipped (in the UK at least) for a lot of these new blades, they are superb value as well.

I think we're in the golden age to be a wet shaving enthusiast.

The new Gillette Minora Stainless is the same as the old Gillette Stainless (red & white) pack.

Old version of the Gillette Stainless (red & white) made directly from Russia is no longer available anymore was original for the Middle East and African countries

New Gillette Minora Stainless made directly from Russia for the Middle East and African countries on the current market. New version is slightly smoother than the old version above as they’re the same.
