GEM blades discolored

I've got a small way into my box of 100 blades and noticed, so far, most of them have a few dark patches on the surface behind the cutting edge. The metal is totally smooth to the touch, so it's surface rust.

Is this normal for gem blades? Is it something I should be concerned about?

Just a thought you are not storing them in the Bathroom are you ?? If so may well be the condensation you get in that environment.

I have had some like that mine are stored in an airtight box

It's not rough to the touch it doesn't look like rust either

They still shave fine I wouldn't worry
