Take a look at GB Kent's website:

Click on the "f" for Facebook icon (or click on "Launch Community" then the Facebook icon )

There you will see the company has a Facebook page. Now this is an interesting opportunity. I suspect if all the big names in shaving products had similar pages there would be quite a bit of interest. Anyone who is on Facebook can check it out. Not sure if it can be accessed otherwise.I have joined as a "fan" to see how it develops.

And.......if 5 people post my name on the wall I could win the £50 worth of Air Hedz Pro brushes listed in the discussion topic which I would be happy to raffle for charity here or just find a way of getting it to someone who could make use of it. I'm the one with the coffee cup!

Worth checking out?

Wow. Nice one! I like it when people I know win things.

At uni, I was part of the students residents commitee. We organised nights out etc. The main event was the Summer ball. That's when I learnt that raffles are fixed. I went into the meeting and someone said "ok, how shall we distribute the prizes among ourselves and who deserves what?"

I was gobsmacked. I guess I'm naive. I understood their point of view. We, the commitee members, had put in the graft: designing posters, handing out leaflets, budgeting, contacting the coach companies etc. and the "public" (other student s) just paid a quid to enter. So, why not fix ourselves/our friends as raffle prixe winners. But I couldn't go along with it. Since that day, I got the feeling a lot of "competitions"/raffles are a bit dodgy.

Nice one Fido!

Funny really. Ruth thought I was after shaving brushes. As soon as she realised it was hair brushes she became enthusiastic.

Seems an odd thing to offer £50 for! Damian responded, then I thought I would just get my daughters to sort it out. One email to each of them and Texas, Bournemouth and Guildford posts went in.

Perhaps I'll look around for other gifts like this!

It got even better today! I got a message from GB Kent telling me that if I got another couple of people to log on as friends to their Facebook site they would send me a BK4.

A couple of clicks and within the hour the brush was secured. So that will make it nine brushes and out for me.

I shall be following the action here and post a few questions about Kent brushes in due course:

I gave some publicity to this on a couple of other forums and all five £50 prizes have now gone. I'll be keeping an eye on their Facebook pages and will report anything interesting.

More and more businesses are using networks like Facebook, U Tube, Twitter and the like and maintaining blogs. These are all useful ways of improving two way communications between organisations and consumers which will benefit to all of us.
