Fountain Pens

My dear wife has just nipped into an Asda near her office and picked up one of these for me:

The Asda Moleskine copy... potentially quite a bargain! I shall be trying it out and reporting back some point later on...

I've been using them for a while now and they're really very good. No bleeding through or feathering to speak of, and the weight is excellent.
regards, beejay

I kinda picture myself as more like the somewhat seedy, past it bartender HM ............... the one with the grey chest hair & one button too many unbuttoned on the worn once too often shirt. He jist looks like the kinda stand up guy who would also still wear industrial quantities of Brut. Oops, maybe a wee shade too much info there !

Bought one this morning on your recommendation. I normally use scraps of paper when I work but I've resurrected my fountain pen and it's been a pleasure using this pad. I am now feeling more organised as well!

I haven't got round to actually using the pad yet - it feels like the first use should be for something worthwhile! Not that I have anything like that...

Arrowhead - did you pick up that pen at Asda too?? It looks a bit too nice!

Found it!

Yes I did: it's a discontinued line, so knocked down to £2. It actually writes rather nicely, or would do in other hands. The notebooks are very good for the price.

I used to use a Sheaffer gold nib fountain pen, which I absolutely adore.. unfortunately I can't find cartridges for it anymore.. so it's not being used.
The I was given a gold Sheaffer fountain pen, which I used for a while, but it's not very discreet, too bling-bling for me.
And now my daily writing tool is a Montblanc Meisterstuck Mozart, it's the best (and the most expensive) writing item I've ever bought. (crazy money!)
The one advantage with this one, living in france, is that I'll never have a problem finding cartridges. (I use the blue-black ones)

FB.

I normally use a Pilot V-Pen as I have a habit of loosing pens, they write quite well.

If you want to be ' green' they can be refilled by grabbing the nib with pliers and pulling!

Bought 2 of the large and 2 of the A5s, think that was about £14 all in :) oh, also picked up while in there 15 Quink carts for about £2.80 which was nice, except using them in my Lamy (they are obviously a bit wider than Lamy ones) if you unscrew the pen, the cartridge stays in the barrel - drip drip

Hello from the USA.... got the shipment of pens from Todd at ISELLPENS.COM - photos on my return, but the overall impression is that even the cheap Chinese knock-offs have a very nice build quality and finish. Of the 5 I ordered only one has been tried (the Baoer) and although the nib is rather on the fine side, the flow of ink is superb and the nib itself is very smooth.

As I say - full reviews to follow as I'm wasting valuable beer-drinking-in-the-sun time, but for the stupidly low price I'm impressed thus far. At least if they write like crap they're still pretty on the desk eh?

[attachment=0]Ok my 3 fountain pens that I will not part with. All 1930's Parker Vacumatic's, IMHO the most beautiful pens to look at and also very good to write with..... :D
