First Ever Ready SE shave

I've had an 1912 ER hanging around for a while. I picked it up at an antique fair for a fiver, and even bought some blades from a local chemist. Unfortunately, it soon became obvious that those blades were not designed for shaving, and the ER had just remained in my "try it one day" drawer.

Moving on, I ordered some blades from Paul at Connaught to give it a proper go, and those blades arrived yesterday, so I gave it a go this morning.

I did consider this attempt for a non-work day, in case things went a bit pear-shaped, but I really had no need to worry. I lathered up with a Tabac stick, cautiously put steel to skin with the razors head almost flat against my face, and then started my WTG pass.

It worked, and seemed to work well. I was very careful, and I followed my normal routine, and I got a comfortable shave with no weepers or cuts. It wasn't the closest shave that I've had, but certainly well within the "that'll do" category.

I did have to be very careful on my neck, and had to pay extra special attention to pressure and angle, and it was a little awkward in the top lip/under the nose area. There were a couple of moments when I felt that I may suffer burn later, but so far so good.
