I was trying to remember the last time I used a Safety razor, it was at least 20 years ago and it was a mess, a lot of blood and a sore neck for some days to come. Since then I have used Mach 3, Fusion, Wilkinson - - two sorts -- one was a fat handled razor where you stored 3 spare blades in the handle, the other had a powered trimmer in the handle. Just lately I have even been using disposable razors.
I have bought quite a bit of kit but I thought I would take things easy and just use the Wilkinson Classic with the Wilkinson blade and use up the shaving gel that I was already using, bought from Lidl, I am sure there are better shaving creams , but if I dont use it up it will get thrown away and that wont do at all.
What a difference in the shaving experience, the blade just cut through the hairs, no tugging, no flexing of the handle, just a good, even shave, and all from one of the cheapest razors on the market. There was a real pleasure in doing things properly.
So, I appreciate all the helpful advice from TSR, the journey has begun.
