Finished.!!

Barrister & Mann Cheshire soap sample I got from Maggard Razors this May.

Only a sample really but I got over half a dozen shaves from it! Like all B&M soaps I've tried, performance was top rate. The Cheshire scent is very pleasantly fresh and is one I could use daily without getting tired of. Would I purchase the full tub? Probably not because I have so many other tubs to use first which will last me a few years and this scent does not stand out as very different from many other scents. It was great to try it though.

While I have, of course, finished products over the years, these past five years have seen me finish precisely one product, a Speick stick milled into a small bowl. I have so many things in the rotation now, I have trouble finishing any of them. My TOBS Sandalwood is still 20-30 more shaves and it's 5 years old now! But, of course, I just bought a spare...

I finish a tub of TOBS shaving cream about every three months. A tub of Trumper shaving cream lasts me about four months because it’s larger. So far this year I’ve finished off one tub of TOBS shaving cream, one tub of Trumper GFT shaving cream and one tube of Body Shop shaving cream; I’m now working on a tub of Trumper Sandalwood shaving cream. On my last trip I finished a stick of Harris Lavender soap, which I’d been working on for several years since I used it only for travel.

i have my soaps and a/s set up for the year - so by the end of 2018 I will have finished - 60g Cella, 70g Nanny's Bergamot hardsoap, 75g verguilde hand and possibly 70g Proraso red. as for a/s I will have finished 80ml of Bond Executive, 100ml homemade mentholated Bayrum, 100ml Verbana Sauvage and possibly 90ml Patrich Noir.

I know it's cheating to list them in advance but I will report in at the end of the year to confirm :) bet you can't wait...

Hi, I wondered what fitjar is like. I see Executive shaving has a limited edition one which is extra strong in the menthol. Seems they use lovely ingredients.Roy
I really enjoyed Fitjar, this was a Secret Santa gift 2016. It lathered up a treat and had a nice scent to it. The scent was subtle and I could pick up the lavender. It is one I will be revisiting sometime.

At the moment I’ve too many soaps on the go. With a trip to America this summer I’ll be bringing back some soaps from there too.

Thayer's Witch Hazel - Rose flavour

It's lasted a long time but it's finally over. Thayer's is, in my opinion, the best witch hazel for the main reason that it doesn't smell a bit like a toilet like plain witch hazel does.

I'm not as keen on the rose scent as I thought I would be. The best flavour I've tried is the cucumber - nicely fresh which is just what you need after a shave.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but I'll choose cucumber next time.
