Favourites Fragrances

I like to smell nice, and to me that is a Traditional Eau de Cologne, of which I have many. I also love Citrus and Lavender scents.
Many original scents from the perfume or designer houses were Citrus Chypre's EDT's, I do enjoy these but much prefer Eau de Cologne's. I am a fan of Brut, does this mean I am a fan of Fourgere's? I do find aquatic and green scents on the dull side, but they are generally inoffensive.

What's your favourite style of Fragrance?
And if you list an individual fragrance, I expect you to list it's style or family...

I'm trying to be a bit more educated when it comes to fragrances, this forum is a great place for that. I bought a few samples last year and I seem to like Fougere's also. Of the fragrances I tried Houbigant's Fougere Reserve and Creed Green Irish Tweed were my favourites, I am also a fan of good old Brut. I have DR Harris Winsdor soap which I really enjoy and plan to get the EDT soon although not really sure what category that falls into.

I think the majority of my Occidental frags would be Fougeres. I respond to oak moss a bit like a cat does with nip. I absolutely love the stuff and reformulations using synthetic just don't do it for me.

On the Oriental side (my attars), most are based on amber with musk and wood as secondary. I'll often layer a pure floral oil over.

Possibly the most beguiling scent I have is a Majmua. There is almost no description for the scent, but it is a classic in Oriental perfumery. It's earthy, green, floral, almost minty; likely classified as a Fougere in Occidental perfumery.

Have you tried Czech & Speake Number 88 fragrance, it's so much more than just rose, not that there is anything wrong with a straight up rose scent. P.
13 years ago I had the full sample kit that they sent out, I must have tried it. I will try it again. Thanks.

I'm a seasonal wearer so I will wear very different fragrances in the summer to those that I would wear in the winter. Having said that my favourite genre are Orientals, which is what I gravitate towards in the colder weather, with my absolute favourite being Xerjoff's Alexandria II which is a beautiful combination of Rose, Oud and Woods.
