I can only pick one, so I've gone with the (tallow based) Erasmic shave stick, but it's a toss-up between that and the Palmolive or the Tabac.

I'm fairly glad with the way this poll has gone, Palmolive is a classic and La Toja is very much the best discovery this year.

I'm sorry I couldn't include Boots or Vergulde Hand, I've tried them too but couldn't get as good a lather as any the others. The poll only allows ten choices so they had to be left out.

As for the sticks that have no votes:
Arko, smells horrible but the lather is superb.
Harris, ultra expensive but is one of the best soaps out there. The refill cake is much better value, 100g for the same price as the 40g stick.
Speick, very underrrated, it has a great scent and lather. Tallow based, I'd recommend this if you haven't tried it.

cheers

Im sure that you voted twice for the Palmolive stick Pete    !

Palmolive offers superhuman value for money. And boy does it last a long time. My first stick cost under a quid and lasted two full years. I'm amazed they can make money with a business model like it. Cheap and cheerful wins again!

I see Palmolive currently has 29% of the vote. We must be careful chaps, all this waxing lyrical (and I'm guilty) could be spotted by the gentlemen at Colgate and the price may be increased. Before we know it Tesco will be selling a stick for 50p!!

Luckily in the shaving stick dept of my Shavocalypse stash I have a couple of dozen (bought when they were on offer at 23p  )

Well you are certainly OK for soaps. I reckon that lot would outlive Methuselah.

This poll must be flawed. Folks can't have tried all these different sticks - just choosing the ones they have instead.

Mr Rat is annoyed.
