I want to buy another razor.
I'm thinking of the Fatip Grande nickel or chrome open comb.
Why? I want to try an open comb razor.
At the moment I have :
Wilkinson Sword Classic (plastic)
Fatip Grande Gentile gun metal
Ying Jili (Gillette clone)
Is chrome better then nickel or is it just the looks?
Any other recommendations are welcome. Price limit €30 max €40

Thx in advance

Why not try one of the vintage open comb razors out there? A Gillette Old, or New etc.

Fatip Grande Nichelato £14.86 on the forest atm. Quality is questionable but there is a technique to getting the blade to sit evenly. You can definitely feel the blade on these, efficient and smooth. Been using one since I purchased it.

Hi abj, there were some quality control issues alleged with these when they first appeared, however the nickel one I have is just fine and shaves well.
I believe that it just comes down to personal taste really. I always prefer nickel or gunmetal shades if available, you may like shinier options.

YMMV but the grande handle feels really cheap and nasty to me, I prefer the piccolo.
Nothing about Fatip razors feels premium and fancy, but they look old worldly, masculine and they shave brilliantly. I personally started with the Grande but grown to appreciate and eventually prefer the Piccolo more. It's better balanced, more grippy and more manoeuvrable of the two.
