Executive Shaving Prices

I have used them a number of times and always received first class service. You just have to price check like you would for anything else and if overpriced, go elsewhere.

I will say though I think it is important that we keep these small business interests going and especially those with an actual shop. There is nothing more comforting than being able to walk in to a premises, browse at leisure and take in the aroma which goes with the experience. Especially as there isn't much to go at outside of London. The only ones I know of bar one or two smaller interests as a side line to their main business are.

The Groom Room in Dundee
Executive Shaving
The master barber Southport (although a barbers it is well stocked)
Traditional shaving Co Leeds

Probably not the cheapest but I tend to buy when I visit as a matter of keeping them turning over and keeping this small market alive. It can't be easy for any of them and more so in these strange days.

Both Connaughts and Executive Shaving are UK businesses, both are VAT registered, both offer good customer service. Connaughts charge £16.80 for 100 Shave X blades; Executive Shaving charge £60. We are not talking an extra 20% or 30% here but well over 300% that Executive Shaving is charging unsuspecting customers. I call that sharp practice! and there are other products where Executive Shaving charge many times over the market rate. It no doubt catches the many shavers who do not frequent shaving forums and are unaware of the going rate. Ask yourself how you would feel if you paid £60 for 100 blades that can be readily purchased for less than £17. There are other less courteous names for this type of business model! I will not shop with them...

There are many shops that sell a good range of shaving items, although in York we have lost an independent perfumery, a barber, a tobacconist, and a high end product store that all sold Italian and London shaving products. We only have a Penhaligons and Mullen and Mullen left.

First of I'd like to say that I have no links to ES who are less than hours drive away from me but I haven't visited they're shop yet . I understand and appreciate that they are a small business that won't always be able to compete on price as they won't have the buying power of large company's . But what they can do is support you with knowledge built up from years of trading in this market
I personally would rather pay a few quid more and support a local company that pays they're tax in GB than a certain organisation that has a pi@@ poor record of employment rights and an even worse record of avoiding paying money into our tax system
However it's everyone's right to choice where they hit the button and spend they're cash
They don't have a shop

It amuses me how many people praise ES customer service. I was using a proper brush and soap with cartridges and had bought some bits from them.
When I decided to move away from carts I spoke to Brian who convinced me to try a one blade. I bought one but wasn't happy. First complaint - was told I needed to use it for at least ten shaves. Still not happy and having bought a cheap WS DE from a supermarket - which was better - I was then told I'd had it more than 14 days - so tough.
I'm now enjoying proper shaving despite ES's best efforts!

To me Executive Shaving is a cracking online shop, yes some prices are higher but iv definitely noticed some prices cheaper although marginally.
For me the most annoying thing on the website is the constant bombardment of his own products,
Yes Brian we realise you have your own and i actually have most of them however it doesn't need to be on every single page,
Even when using filters going highest price first then ES creams will come up first.
Its only a minor concern for me but i am hard to please.
On a personal note i agree about helping local business and if Brian has a shop i would be there on a fairly regular basis, i do like a browse.
My wife actually asked this week if i was taken a drive through but for me it's a waste of time as there's nothing to see. However this won't stop me shopping there and i will be very shortly

Yeah their DE blade prices are bonkers.
I got an email off them the other day about saving money by bulk buying blades. There was a link to 100 blades (Gillette Silver Blue). They were asking £60 for them (they were £70).

I've bought the identical blades and amounts for £13 elsewhere.

Other things I have bought from them have been reasonably priced or as cheap as everywhere else. I've never used their customer service, but I have heard great things about it.
I'm sure there are people that buy them, some people don't shop around and have no idea those prices are daylight robbery.

I still shop for price, if I can get a item cheaper elsewhere then I will buy that. I feel no affiliation towards a company that is close at hand but a lot more expensive, that does not make sense at all.
Off course it makes sence to support your local businesses. if we don't then our little specialised shops will be no more.
I do a lot of fishing and the same thing is happening, Tackle shops up and down the country are closing because of big corporations having a monopoly. so for me it makes sence to support your local shop. 9 time's out of 10 you'll only ever save pennies rather than pounds

We have two local fishing shops and a massive superstore type, the prices in the small shops are way more than the large shop and they seldom stock enough so always have to go elsewhere, the big shop seldom runs out of stock and is Always cheaper, it makes sense to me to go where you are guaranteed to get your bait and at a better price.

That's exactly why I don't check their website when shopping for anything shave related.

I miss Shave Lounge, they were the best, fair prices and fantastic service.
Very true. While ES do have a wide range of shaving products, some other sites, Shave Lounge who are sorely missed, do appear to be somewhat more competitive. Having said that though can not fault ESCcustomer service and Brian's knowledge on shaving bits and pieces

It's true that ES are overpriced on some items such as razor blades. They are, though, relatively competitive on others such as soaps and modern razors and whilst they may not necessarily be the cheapest, they certainly aren't gouging out prices on these items.

They also stock some product lines that nobody else in the UK does and, in this respect, it's difficult to gauge whether they are overpriced or not. They've taken the custom charge hit on these items and it can sometimes prove cheaper to buy these items from them as opposed to playing the custom charge lottery associated with importation of the same items from abroad. Once you also factor in the delayed postage times you can experience when importing razors and brushes, it can make some items seem pretty good value for money.

well bob i sort of sympathise with what your saying however i also have a huge megastore 10 minutes from my house and it generally sells nothing i want.
unfortunately i have no local shops now as the big boy put them out of business then upped their prices

They probably closed when everyone else went to the mega store, same thing with small grocers and butchers when Asda and Tesco came along, people want more choice at less cost...and that's what the big stores offer

I do agree in part however once they have the monopoly the prices go up and there's not a thing we can do about it. Most of my fishing these days is LRF and most in the uk don't deal with the high end stuff I want is most I have to order from Japan
