Here are a few pics of the Ever Ready Bathroom Set with the integral blade bank. If any one can shed any light on it, date of manufacture etc, I'd be obliged.

The Bathroom Set and a Set called Peerless were made in 1951. Both have aluminium handles the Bathroom Set being round and the Peerless being hexagonal.
Most importantly the head has been manufactured to accommodate the modern Gem Blade. As a result they Shave not only very smoothly but without the rasping sound associated with 1912 s. A Bathroom set is now my 1912 of choice and today I used one, and got a rather "Face Stroking" finish.

AFAIK the Peerless came with both a hexagonal and a round handle ...

Notice that this is a GEM? Made in England? What the? GEM is (predominantly) an American brand and not seen in Britain, certainly not made in England. So, what gives? From what I've come to understand, we used the GEM brand for markets such as Canada and Australia. I've seen a number of Australian sets under the GEM brand (Made in England).

Meanwhile, back in Blighty ...

Hi Paul,
I knew you could be relied on to give us little known info on ER. Late Sets, and the existence of Gem models.Have you still got your fantastic collection of ER/ Gems?, a piccy would be nice.

I do still have a good collection - very comprehensive 1912, 1914 & 1924 with a good smattering of Damaskeene and one or two nice sets like the ER Natural Angle Deluxe and the olive handle Featherweight. Few Steamlines, too. Predominantly, I call it a 1912 collection. Likewise, over on the DE side, gone is almost everything (vintage) except for the Gillette Tech, save a handful of 'New's and one Rocket HD.

I like 1912s ... I like Techs.
