Dull blades in aggressive razors VS Sharp blades in mild razors

We use different soap, brush and razor on a different day with different mood. We try a single blade once, then move on to another one. How the heck do you eliminate all those variables and determine it's the difference in blades that results in different shaving experience?

It is a fair point , I try where I can to test a new blade with a known set of equipment and supplies, however whatever I conclude is purely subjective and relates to me. I agree with much of what is said above I think most blades give a reasonable result, and then some really stand out at the don't suit me end and the do suit me end. I like to try the different ones, but I have what I have tried divided into 3 categories.

1. Didn't Suit me stop using and get rid of whats left

2. Is ok wil use them up but not buy anymore

3. Go too Blades

I intend to stick with those in Category 3 primarily going forward.

I find the whole process and ceremony very relaxing and enjoyable, could I get a good shave even with the blades I reject in most cases yes.

As for the other elements, you can get a good cup of tea, without a Japanese Tea Ceremony , but guess what it is about the Ceremony not the Tea.

A poor blade is a poor blade no matter what it's in, and a dull blade in an aggressive razor is just going to be worse.

Some like to push aggressive razors and regard them as a badge of honour, the fact is that a Jagger 89 with a good blade will work for 99% of us.

I agree.

You shave with the blade, the razor is just a handle.
