DE head comparison

Hello Gents!

My current safety razors are a Merkur 34c (been using it for more than 15 years now) and a Merkur progressive (for more than 7 years).

I am now looking for a third one which will be used as a traveling razor.

i would prefer a mild one to combine it either with ASTRA or FEATHER blades. I ve narrowed my search down to the following ones

1. Muhle R89 Closed Comb Safety Razor

2. Executive Shaving Company Mild Stainless St. which as I understand has the same head as the above, but slightly more weight due to the different handle.

3. The Outlaw MILD Super Grip

I m very happy with the Merkur 34c as far as mildness, dimensions and weight goes, but would prefer not to purchase another one as a traveling razor, but rather opt for something different.

How would each of the above compare against the 34c ?

Does anyone have any experience with any of the above in comparison ?
Or are there any other option I have missed ?

Thnak you in advance.

I hear the Lord L6 has a similar head to the 34C, worth looking at for a travel razor.
The other option is the KCG from Gillette which is in many supermarkets now selling at £13 {with 5 blades} introductory price. Very similar to the 34C but just a little milder. My travel razor is the EJ DE89 of which there are numerous clones at a cheap price.
If it for the Dopp kit you don't need a stainless steel razor.

Thank you the input, will consider the DE89 as well then.

How does it compare against the 34c (weight wise and mildness) ?

The KCG will be a little heavier with the longer handle and weighs ~ 104 grams. The EJ DE89 weighs ~76 grams, about the same as the 34C and the handle is about 10mm longer than the 34C. The EJ DE86 {ebony handle} also looks good and from A***on for £23.
They are very similar in mildness with the 34C just a tad more aggressive but some disagree with that; they have about the same blade gap.

I did a little bit of online search last night and read some reviews, so here are my thoughts.

i m between the executive shaving Braveheart, the Outlaw mood and the Mild stainless steel (which has the head of R89).

what I mean thinking is that I can chose 1 of them and if for some reasons does do the job for me, I can keep the handle and replace the head with one of the other.

If I understand correctly all are compatible with the same handle. Can someone please confirm ?

Does anyone have experience any of the above 3 ?

thank you.

I have Merkur 34c and love it and it's the mildest I've got, the Muhle R89 has nicer balance and slighter heavier than the Merkur. It is a bit more aggressive and have often managed a two pass shave, whilst the Merkur is always a three pass and it's a great razor. I also have a Giesen & Forsthof Timor which is the heaviest and a good mild shave, with a thin head which lets you get closer under the nose - the head also covers the entire blade. You'll not be disappointed with either the Muhle or Timor. Good luck.

Thank you all for the inputs. Pulled the trigger on an Outlaw Mild stainless steel.
I figured that if it does not suit me I can always sell the head and keep a hefty stainless handle to be used with other heads.
