Yes. I was surprised how small a straight is when i got mine. Only seen photos of them before.

After 3 applications of raw linsseed oil compared to original colour.

Added boiled linsseed oil, sanded second coating wet with 1000 grit paper and polished. Result is BBS but matt so will try carnoubawax for shine.

Put the pivot pin design on hold and took the easy road: classic two-pin design with a twist in the form of a brass tube wedge.

Instead of using Linseed oil try a gunstock oil, like Birchwood Casey Tru Oil. Brilliant stuff. Hard finish, quick drying and easy to re-apply. Amazon and the bay will supply. I've used it myself with great results.

No can do: I am a big fan of non toxic linseed oil especially the brand grown and produced at a local farm close to where I live, both raw and boiled.
