Parfum's Vintage Emperor EDP. Not cheap but very close and a better performer than current Aventus batch's.

You won't be disappointed. Everyone seems to love this. I wear the Club de Nuit Intense for office etc. and keep the Aventus for 'special'.

Would agree with with Armaf CDNIM but the opening really is not great - you need to let it settle for a little bit. Also agree with the above, Mont Blanc Explorer is a good designer take on the Aventus DNA.

I wouldn't spend that much on Aventus so I've never tried it, but I did get some Mont Blanc Explorer after hearing so many comments and seeing so many reviews comparing it to Aventus...most saying things like: "it's definitely inspired by Aventus", or "it's 80% Aventus" etc. Some blind tests seem to get a preference for Explorer too, from what I've heard. I do like Explorer though, so I'm very happy to hear the reviews!
Apparently Aventus had a great year in 2016 but not so good since...I never knew that colognes had 'vintages' like wine.
