Hi everyone. Postie delivered my Myatt Daymark today, it's the 1st time I have been sold a razor which is not quite what it seems, the photos looked good and were part of the description. No real text description.
The Razor is very dirty but the main problem is the handle is cracked and the thread end is loose.
Does anyone have a repair that I can use to repair the crack and refit the thread endScreenshot_20190426-112320~2.png
:mad::cry:
The bits are in the barbicide. Luckily I have another Myatt handle and also the copper handles from @les24preludes which fit.
No more flea bay buys without question!! Lesson learned.

If it was sold without mention of the crack and it was not visible in the photos then you are well within your rights to open an "item not as described" case with eBay. Personally I would message the seller first giving them opportunity to make good, if that doesn't work then go the dispute route.

It may seem a minor issue and not worth the bother but if the seller gets away with it then nothing will stop them doing the same to others in the future.

Firstly though i second @Rohleder is right if the crack was not visible in the photos then you are well within your rights to open an "item not as described" case with eBay...send the seller a message if he or she is any good it should be settled for you if not, then as said go the dispute route.

Hope this helps, if anything mate you could give them both a a try.. "We've all bought things on impulse, and been bitten by our own impatient eagerness".
Regards. B

Already messaged the seller. I have cleaned the razor up and the head and cap are great. Was thinking of some chemical metal to repair handle from inside. If it does not work so be it.
It had to happen because of all the good stuff I have gained for buttons. I am not too upset as I can make it work for me.Screenshot_20190426-125205~2.pngScreenshot_20190426-125945~2.png

Is it supposed to be silver?
Also doesn't this take non standard blades as well?
Yes it is supposed to be silver, it is well worn, however, the cap and head are spot on. I have filled the crack with chemical metal, fitted the head screw and cable tied it all together. I will check it later. If all else fails it will sport a copper handle.
I have a gross of NOS Myatt blades on route.

I noticed a lot of the vintage razors have cracks in this area on flea bay. They are not always in the description and accompanied by out of focus images.

Handles from razoremporian look like a great replacement.
