Yes I know I'm digging up an old thread but did HM get to have a look at a corked and un corked blade under a micro scope??

Nope - I didn't... 2 reasons... I don't possess any corks (well there are a few dozen still gainfully employed in sealing bottles of single malts from Scotland, Ireland and Wales) nor any of the blades that allegedly benefit from being corked
