Consider the hat

I have a Tilley T3 that's seen many a canie/camping trip and been lost twice but returned thanks to my address written under the crown. I also own a Rogue suede South African bush hat, an Akubra, Olney oversized flat cap and an ordinary Scottish tweed flat cap. Favourite? Tilley, hands down. I really fancy a Panama trilby for those hot summer days lounging around in the back garden with a pot of tea and some cake or a glass of tonic water (no gin - alkie!).

I do like the Olney flat caps, loads of styles and colours as well as a great tradition of hat making.

Aye, most if not all of the Olneys are still made in England which is a rare enough thing for affordable goods. They're well made too but I've got to watch the sizing as I have a big bonce and need a 7 5/8" which not all Olneys go up to. The Akubra and Rogue are good fits but a proper Scottish wind will have them aff yer heid in a jiffy whereas the flat cap stays on better and the Tilley goes nowhere even in the worst of winds in the middle of a lake/loch. I'm hankering after a Panama from these chaps: http://www.panamahats.co.uk/snap-brim-trilby-panama-cuenca-3-5-black-band/

I have an old triple xxx brown Stetson for the cowboy boot days.
Black Homburg for the 'dressed to the nines' days. It doesn't get worn very often.
Tweed flat caps for the rest of the year.
Waxed cotton flat cap for camping and rain.
Army surplus Jeep cap during the winter.
Almost forgot my avatar pic:
