Cigars!

should have known better than to start reading this thread :D i gave up cigarettes and joints about 11 year ago, but this thread got me interested in trying cigars.

i was in newcastle last week and popped into to the cuba cigar club shop to dip my toe in the water, i got myself some montecristo clubs and i found that i really enjoyed them. today i popped into a newsagents round the corner who have a half decent selection of tubed singles and bought a h upmann coronas junior. for a cigar novice it was a very satisfying smoke, think ill start treating myself to a decent cigar every now and again.

Red Dot Toro 20160909_150129.jpg has a filler blend of half Jamaican and half Nicaraguan
tobaccos with a Nicaraguan binder. The wrapper is a choice of a natural
Ecuador Habano or a maduro Costa Rican which results in a mild to medium
bodied cigar.

The finer things in life can be so simplistic yet complex.

Through the journeys of life you get to appreciate these things. For me I have a love for Coffee, Cigars, and Whisky, and now Shaving the way my grandpa used to, with a SE and a bowl of hard soap.

Been smoking them for about 18yrs and have tried a variety of different kinds and blends. My most memorable was an Arturo Fuente, Opus X limited edition on my first wedding anniversary sitting on the beach at St Andrews, Scotland. Never had anything like it since.

I do enjoy a cigar with a whisky, but I encountered a problem. The cigar was finished before the whisky. Spoke to the guy in the shop and purchased a La Aurora double corona. This was coupled with a Cragganmore 12yr old and needless to say the cigar finished me before the whisky. 1hr and 40mins of smoke time and I still had a 3rd to go and couldn't do it.

In terms of favourites it would be Cohiba Maduro's (christmas purchase), Bolivar (all kinds), Montecristo's, Romeo y juilleta, Partages Series D, mostly cuban, but will try and experiment with others.

Nothing better than after a hard week, a Friday night out the backdoor with a whisky, cigar, fire pit, and the good lady.

As a (mostly) non smoker I fancied a cigar the other day. Decided to start small and mild, not knowing anything and found myself leaving Morrisons with a tin of Cafe Creme miniatures. Little cigarette sized things, they smelled nice in the tin, but I didn't find the smoking very satisfying really. I guess it's like trying out wet shaving with a supermarket own brand disposable and canned goop... fail!

Blimey, I remember Café Creme. I had no idea they were still manufactured until I saw an empty tin left on the pavement the other day. I haven't smoked for 16 years and, fortunately, don't miss it at all, apart from when on holiday in Greece. There's something about sitting on a terrace in the early morning, everything quiet and still, a Greek coffee on the table in front of me, the clarity of the light, the smell of the sea, that has me hankering for a Rothman's to complete the picture.

I must stop looking at these wonderfull cigar shots because I used to enjoy nothing better than a cigar and a drop of something, but now I've given up smoking again theses wonderful pictures are almost too much. Enjoy.
