Chubby....really worth it?

Are these all custom made or are they the limited edition brushes they sell on their site?

These are not custom brushes - it's just Simpsons hiking prices based on brand recognition (admittedly also based on their reputation for quality). If you want to spend far less but get a custom brush, then do yourself a favour and go to one of the custom brush makers recommended in this thread. I was going to get a Simpson's Duke (also based on advice from here) and I'm sure it's a great brush, but no way would I pay silly money for one.

I mentioned in a SOTD post that I've just used my first ever synthetic brush (Razorback Plissoft 24mm) and it has blown my socks off...£17.

(Merv...I'm banking on my new one from you to knock it down a peg or two!;))

Greybeard (AKA 'Burki')

For the past week on holuday, i have used my £15 Simpson Grosvenor. Was my shave bad? No way, close and comfortable shave. However, my chubby 3 badger which I use at home, gives an experience like nothing else, a wall of supersoft hair massaging a good lather on your face. I hankered after this brush for years and in the end bought it. Luxury brush but affordable. All for the price of ten packs of deadly cigarettes!

Cigarettes are so expensive these day's :)

Over priced Vulfix I believe, never felt the need and happy with what I use.
Info from net.
The Nimmer Mills incarnation of Simpson shared production facilities with the Coates company. In 1990 the two companies entered into a receivership agreement from which they were purchased by David Carter and Francis Woodhouse. Following the retirement of the elderly business owners, the Simpson name was purchased in May 2008 by Progress Shaving Brush (Vulfix) Limited, another very highly respected brush manufacturer in their own right, based at the centre of the British Isles on the beautiful Isle of Man.

I love both my Simpsons brushes - Chubby 2 Synthetic & Commodore X3 Best. Prefer the Commodore's handle shape but that synthetic knot is absolutely amazing in every way. They're both beautifully made and oh, I've just realised that I've another Simpsons brush: what I believe to a vintage Special in lovely, aged butterscotch which Simpsons re-knotted for me with best badger. Lovely wee thing it is as well!
