I use Dunn River's jerk paste which is excellent but I don't think I've tried anything else by them, Walkerswood jerk was another goodie until they reformulated.

Just picked up some Baron hot sauce which I've not had or found in ages so looking forward to trying that again as a marinade, very nice mustard fruit kick.

Sriracha is a great sauce, i always have a bottle on hand.

I do however have biohazard six million extract, should anyone want to be a hard guy, this stuff will bring most folk to their knees. But for a good strong sauce i quite like blairs ultra death as it does have a nice smoky flavour, unlike anything else i've tried.

But i currently love nando's sweet peri peri chilli sauce, can't put my finger on it, but it hits the right spot of sweet and hot for me.

Linghams is another to look at, bit thicker and sweeter than the nando's, but still nice all the same.

mmm...another vote for Nando's, I might have to get over my anti high street bias and try a few.

You're right though Linghams is a bit sweet if not actually sugary, not tried the chilli/garlic version which I was going to recommend to Nic as it's easily available...needed doctoring.

Now you all mention it Nando's hot peri peri is very tasty, leaving aside that it's a high street brand it does actually seem to be fairly complex and has a deeper flavour than most hot sauces. Like it a lot.

Antdad: If you want a bottle of Dunn's River I'll happily send you one. It looks like the Crystal in consistency but I think it's possibly slightly hotter. PM me an address and I'll get it on the way. They're only small bottles.

Hiya,

The Cholula sauce is one I recognize in that group pic and there's always a bottle in the house. One of the strangest things (at least at first) was sprinkling that on my scrambled eggs. Seriously, it's pretty damn tasty.

One other item I'd suggest is the La Victoria green taco sauce. I'm a sucker for Enchiladas Verde, which uses a green tomato and tomatillo base. Been using this brand for many years and it's great for making a quick quesedilla in the microwave with some cheese and soft corn tacos. Very easy and actually tastes good.

Comes in Mild or Medium hot...........haven't tried the medium but the mild is just that. Nice little product to have in the fridge.

Had a nose in the world foods section today, when i spied a little bottle.

It read "jamaicas pride" hot pepper sauce.

My this is a little beauty, has a vinegar twang similar to cholula if not less, but it has a better pepper taste to it, and it comes out thicker which for me is a bonus.

And it's 75% free so it's 48p a bargain i must say.

Ah here it is.

But like i said 48p in tesco's, no one has seemed to have twigged onto it yet.
