I bought an lovely unused Invisible Edge strop on eBay that needs a bit of breaking in. It feels very hard - quite thick and has a flax back bonded to it - and a smooth shiny surface with little drag on the blade. A bit of Dovo strop paste helped with that but it was the last of one of those tiny little tubes. Any reason I can't use a bit of Chelsea Leather Food to soften it up or should I buy a proper strop paste?
Anyone else used one of these Invisible Edge strops? How long did it take to break in?
TIA
Mark
