I like the clippity clop and if you don't mind the attention, they're effective and uniquely British. I get the school corridor thing and being a teenager hating them but view it from the point of a retro/vintage loving adult with a modest brogue and English shoe collection. They add a little something different and useful. Not for everyone of course but I just can't help liking them.

Raleigh Grifter stuck in 3rd cos the gear chain has snapped.

Never could get my head around blue, yellow, silver and then red gears on my Grifter. Silver = slip gear. Why oh why would you want to pass through slip gear when giving it some? The amount of times I thought I'd done serious damage to my Crown Jewels! Always preferred my mate's Striker!
