Broman razor

Per the details about the blade, you can use any de blade snapped in two. This works for the focus r48, but it seems easier to change blade in this razor.

Looks like they reached 107% Don't know how, yesterday they were on 27%, but who cares!

Put their own money in to reach the target.
Guarantees they get the money from the backers as it was a fixed target. If the target was not met they wouldn't have got anything. Now the target has been reached more people are likely to back it as the razor has been funded so they will sell more in the remaining days of the campaign than they would if it had not been reached

It looks as though Broman will be starting to distribute their razor sometime soon.

I received an email earlier today giving a
Broman production update:

'Dear Backers,
Having an idea and turning it into a business is a dream for many people.
With the power of the internet and the support of crowdfunding websites such as Indiegogo, with their trustworthy community of backers, an almost unreachable dream for many can quickly become reality.
Sat around my kitchen table in 2013, as a Product design engineer, I came up with the idea for the Broman razor.
5 years later and very close to shipping our first 1000 units, it is no longer just a razor to me, it is my life. My masterpiece.
Why the captivating intro to your update Dan...?
Well, we can appreciate that backers can become anxious when there are multiple delays in a project. We can also appreciate that backers "just want their razor now!". The stark reality is that a small team with a high attention to detail with a product requiring precision engineering can lead to some unexpected delays. At this stage, I offer my continued commitment and expertise in pushing us closer to completion. We really appreciate your continued patience and support.
We are also working with Indiegogo to review our project and approve our status as "in production". We appreciate that by completing this process, backers can have further confidence in Indiegogo's due diligence of our project.
In review of our production process, here is a checklist of our project so far.

Engineering Updates
From our stress test experiments, we discovered some lateral motion of the assembly pins when the razor was repeatedly opened and closed.
We have now been assembling new pins with knurled ends to prevent this from happening.
Diamond Engraving
For those of you who have ordered an engraved handle for the Broman razor, we have successfully created a template and pre-production test using automated diamond engraving.

In providing an update on delivery, we are in the very final stages of quality control. It is in all of our interests to start shipping Broman razors as soon as possible, particularly since we are fast approaching the start of the festive retail period. However, at this time, we are unable to offer a definitive delivery date. We will provide a further update on a delivery date once we are in a position to do so'.

I'm really looking forward to finally being able to try out this razor. [emoji846]

It looks like these razors will now start to be delivered in April 2019 according to the email update they provided today.

They will apparently ship with 100 Derby Premium Blades as well.

I've copied the new pictures they provided on the update below.

I received the Broman razor a few days ago after a 26 month wait following there Indegogo campaign, and haven't had chance to use it until today.

I was able to snag it for the very cheap price of £4 (including postage) as I was one of the first ten backers and, to be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from it.

It's a mixture of Zamak and plastic and feels much more substantial in the hand than I thought it would. I loaded one of the half-sized Perma-Sharp blades it came with and ended up experiencing a pleasantly smooth and mild shave. There was some noticeable audible feedback which was a good thing as I could barely feel the razor on my face.

I felt it performed better than similar designs I've used before (Focus R45, OneBlade Core and Occam's Oren) and can see me using it quite often in the future. The only problem I have with it is the name - it's truly awful and really needs to be changed.

Well, I am happy for them that they got funded and managed to produce something that delivers a good shave. It seems like it took them a while to get them sent out though. I still don't like the name and have to agree that it looks like a bottle opener but good luck to them.

Actually, I find this quite interesting ...

Name aside, which is actually a reasonably common Swedish surname, the razor appears to me to be a metal Gillette Guard cum Mach 3 which takes disposable blades rather than a disposable cartridge. All in all, sound idea. One I'll keep my eye on.

I never realised the connection with a Swedish surname and presumed that it was a made up ‘street' name for advertising purposes. Thank you for the update, Paul.
