british made boar bristle shaving brush

Vulfix became part of Simpson's in the Isle of Man some time ago, and I think they still make brushes under the Vulfix name. However, I believe they're all in synthetic and not in boar, nowadays. I have an old Vulfix Old Original "Pure Bristle Handmade in UK" brush, which has been made to resemble a badger knot in colour, and it's an excellent, if rather small, brush.

I'm fairly certain all current Kent brushes are manufactured in China. Can't comment on Vulfix boars other than the mixed knot Grosvenor which is good.

really ,damn ......was hoping to find a uk producer

really i thought it was vulfix that took over simpsons ,nevermind have ordered a boar form both vulfix & kent of the bay ,will see what the quality is like compared to semouge & omega

Your best bet might be keeping an eye on eBay for an unused vintage brush? I recently bought a Gillette branded boar (made in England by Rooney circa 1960s) new in box, cost less than £15 delivered and it's easily the best boar brush I've ever had.
yes that,s what started this whole episode , a BNIB old stock culmak senior of the bay ,by god that brush is awsome ,knots small though , appreciate the response

Connaught shaving used to sell Vulfix boars a few years ago.
I had a 2234h in boar that I bought from Connaught. The brush performed OK, but not as good as my other boars by Semogue or Omega. It was not necessarily bad, but the knot was too small and floppy to my taste. I ended up reknotting it with a badger knot :D

well both have arrived on 1st look the vulfix looks ok ,but the kent is way above the vulfix ,large natural finish wood handle & a densely packed knot.. neither is up to semogue /omega standards of finish TBH ..however the kent for less than £10 delivered could well be a real bargain, time to start breaking them in
