Boar Brush help!

Hi guys IV only ever used one boar brush it was a thater boar and I hated it was so stiff and rough, what do you think the best quality boar knot is money no option?

If you want soft and floppy, then a bleached Zenith is the way to go - I struggled to get it to hold a lather though.

IMO, the best for performance of all the ones I have tried/owned is a 24mm/55mm unbleached unbanded Omegas eg 10066 when they break in (use the fridge method to break it in).

Just have a look at Nisse's homebrew handles with Omega knots. Beautiful.

Yeah bleached Zeniths feel a bit like silvertip badgers once broken in (couple of shaves.) No good source currently but once Spain gets closer to normality you should check out yourshaving.com - I understand all post in that part of the world has ground to a bit of a standstill currently.

Nisse is a user on this forum and if you look at the second post on the 2nd page of this thread you can see one of his homemade brushes with an Omega knot.

Heritage Collection they use the same knot that Nisse used, the Omega one from 10098.

Ok I didn't know that, is there no expensive boar knots ? They all seem cheap? For example badger have different grades from cheap to expensive

Not really, aside from Thater who's boar knots seem to divide their buyers. There are a lot of different grades for badger brushes but boar brushes are a bit more homogenous, but there are differences in their knots among the big manufacturers eg Omega, Semogue, Zenith etc but I've noticed in a bit of a variability.

Would spending more make you feel better? I can buy one and sell it to you at a 300% markup if you like. :ROFLMAO: ;)

This is just another example proving that good shaving equipment doesn't have to be expensive, in fact stupid money often just gets you average stuff.
