Best cologne/EDT or EDP to use after menthol/eucalyptus/camphor post-shave balm

OK, it's all in the title...anyone out there prefer those minty/cooling aftershaves and balms? If so, have you found a particular cologne that works well and doesn't make you smell like a chemistry experiment? I guess most post-shave stuff doesn't linger too long anyway, but I'd be interested to hear ideas about the smells that are intended to linger :giggle:

Not quite a balm, but can be used like one ...

I like Prep Cream. It's lightly mentholated and has camphor in the mix. After shaving, wash off your face, splash on some cold water and then rub some Prep in. It's water soluble and so spreads very easily, more like a balm at this point. You can rub it all the way in or pat dry and let the last bits soak in.

Use whatever scent you want afterwards ...

Where do you get some? https://prepskincare.co.uk/

You can also use it as a pre-shave and wash off giving you a cool face to shave or leave it on as a layer under your lather for a bit of extra slip.

Thanks pjgh, but I was thinking of colognes that compliment menthol/minty post-shave products, rather than post-shave products themselves. (My post might be a little ambiguous). Prep Cream sounds interesting though...I'll have to check it out.

Ah, okay ... I get you.

To be frank, any! Cooling is the effect, rather than the scent. Granted, camphor can be quite a smell.

Turkish colognes on a cool face is always nice - they come in all sorts of flavours, but two popular are tobacco and lemon. Tobacco is a good scent to offset any camphorous odours. Alt Innsbruck is a cooling tobacco Cologne if it's more cooling you're after and something that smells good with that. Tabac! Not necessarily tobacco, but it's a damn good smell. Something musky? Jovan Musk. Rose of Bulgaria, with real rose oil is a good strong scent that blends well with the chill.

Tabac Original is one of my all time favourites but, you know what?...I never really thought it would work after the cooling menthol/eucalyptus shaves I often go for...I think of it as a warmer sort of thing. I usually use Tabac after shaving with Tabac soap, using Tabac splash and post-shave balm. Mmmm...looks like you pointed me towards something right under my nose!(y)(y)

Cartier Roadster EDT (original not sport) is amazing, if you can get it.
Starts out slightly minty, then mellows into a really nice, subtle fresh woody-vanilla.
No menthol though.

Lavender goes really well with eucalyptus, I would check out Ach Brito Lavanda Cologne or if you're feeling flush, Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge.
Just received my first ever bottle of Ach Brito Lavanda cologne and I have to say I like it very muchly! Thanks for the suggestion Rohleder (y) (Unfortunately I'm not feeling flush enough for the Czech & Speakeo_O)
