I can see why in a salon situation why a tube of brushless shave butter would be better than good old brush and soap, I am looking forward to trying it but I don't think it would ever replace my soap and brush but as a travel solution it could be ideal. Watch this space! :)
In the BBA vid "Hoxton Shave", the barber massages the butter in on top of the Shave Oil and then face lathers,....on trying to replicate this, I found that the ATT clogged to distraction,..which is why I recommend skipping that step with a DE.

Well thanks for the info, I will follow the directions on the tube to the letter and see how I get on, to be fair I think this product was made with salons in mind where a AC shavette would be used, and after tomorrow I will use a straight razor or my Feather AC Kamisori and see how that stacks up against the DE Razor. :)

Definitely makes more sense with a single edge open razor, as it's much easier to clean the edge than with a combed safety razor.

My first use of the shave butter today, I followed the instructions to the letter. There was plenty of glide and the H2 ATT razor I used sliced through my stubble with ease, the only draw back was the constant clogging even after cleaning off every two strokes, this had the effect of slowing the shave and putting me in a less than zen like state of mind.
However a good shave was had and the post shave products were fantastic. I will use the butter again only the next time I will use a straight razor or my feather AC SS Kamisori .

You no rissen......:)

@Emma C. This morning I used the BBA Shave Butter with my Kamisori, the whole experance was a much better one because you can not clog up a straight razor.....so no clogging means a more zen like experance for me and after all that's what shaving should be like.
The shave butter gave me plenty of protection and glide and my extremely sharp Kamisori sliced through my stubble like a hot knife through butter (shaving butter) :) I was very pleased with this product when used with a straight, when I used with an open comb DE razor the constant clogging just twisted my mellons and although I was able to get a clean shave I was left in a less than relaxed state.
To be fair I think this product lends itself to shavettes as would be used in a salon and is a top performer when used with a straight razor, I'm not saying you can not use with a DE razor but it's not for me.
I will reach for the butter the next time I use a straight razor, no doubt. The skin feel afterwards is fab only made better with an application of BBA post shave balm which left my skin feeling even better. Thanks to Emma from BBA for giving me the oppertunity to try this wonderful product line. :)
