Back from Holiday to a Proper Shave

Hi Guys

Just back from my holiday, which was very nice apart from the shave... As I went by Ryan Air, it meant my luggage could only consist of a tooth brush and a change of underwear... So I decided to leave my beloved HD, shaving bowl, cream etc at home and picked a fusion and can of shave cream at the airport. Even after 2 weeks of using the fusion I couldn't get use to it. But when I got home, I loaded up my HD with a feather and had a great shave.

I guess a break can make you appreaciate a good shave. This is probarly true for most things in life!!!

I bet it was like a real luxury shaving when you got back, it does remind you how much better it is with DE and real soap or cream. I can not do two weeks with canned stuff, might be worth thinking if picking up a cheap Tech or something similar and put that in your checked in luggage?

This year I took a La Toja soap stick, a Simpsons Major travel brush in super and the Futur with a pack of Silver Blues. I also took a small tub of Proraso pre/post, some alum (half of a broken Osma block that shattered when I dropped it), a small 10ml bottle that I got as a sample from Paul filled with 1805 Balm and two plastic pump sprays, one with 1805 cologne and one with Proraso a/s splash.

I obviously have problems compromising as I get older and crankier.

can't see me ever going back to using canned foam and multi-blade (except the Sensor) for any reason.
i'd travel with an old brush, soap stick and a BiC
 
Cheers Guys; yep had a great time - two weeks of sitting in the sun on a beach in Spain doing nothing much apart from reading and drinking beer, with an occasional dip in the sea before getting back to the beer...

When I got home I added my drinking while I was away and I thought blimey I knocked back a few and decided to give up beer and wine for a week. It was a only gesture...

Could you let me know where I can get a cheap Tech from?

Dunno about where to get a Tech from other than flea bay, I thought I'd suggest a Feather Portable. I got one from Pauldog for around $10 including postage. I originally bought it for travelling but liked it so much I got a couple more from him, one to keep in my travel kit, one for home and a spare :D

Sunburyboy seems to pick up quite a few good find by posting a wanted advert in B&B, there is a very active seller forum there. There are a few on ebay this one has no bids

Or also from forum members like Paul and Erwin (member name merwtje), a Tech shold be easy and relitavely cheap to pick up.
