ATT Windsor Compatibility

A quick question for you gents in the know - is the ATT Windsor baseplate compatible with the original cap? By original, I mean the pre-Windsor series that had the long lather slots.

@Boycie83 - I did a comparison shave last night and can confirm that the Windsor shaves much more roughly with the older cap attached. There's much more blade feel and some noticeable chattering. Whilst it will work, it's not a particularly nice combination.

I've done a side to side comparison photo of the two caps and, as you can see, it's not just the length covering the blade tabs, the widths between the two are also different.

You're a scholar and a Gent! Thank you for testing this for me and I genuinely appreciate you suffering through a shave to share this.

I'm after a stainless M1 plate to complete my ATT 'system' but neither Maggard or ATT sell them any more. The Windsor M1 is still available hence my query. Based on your findings, I'll wait until one appears on the BST one day.

Yes that is a lot , if I see one around I will let you know, don't know if @Merkurologist might have a spare.
No, I've never had the M1, I understand that is rather too mild. I have an M2 and that's about right. I find the S1 milder than the M2 and I'm told the M1 is milder than the S1 .

I'm after an R1 but all I find available are H1 and H2 lol.
